Quick Removals Guide For Packing And Moving

Moving house is a daunting task but when done correctly can be quick, efficient and hassle-free.

This quick removals guide provides tips on making your moving experience less stressful:

1. Packing

Your first step in any move is to start boxing up your loose belongings. You can buy boxes or acquire them from your local supermarket. Be sure to get plenty of packing tape, bubble wrap, packing paper and a permanent marker.
Pack up one room at a time, starting with the least used space and ending with your kitchen goods. Wrap fragile items in packing paper and bubble wrap to provide them with extra protection. Place the items tightly in the box. Spaces may lead to items knocking together during transport and becoming damage.
Don’t overload boxes as they will break and may be too heavy to lift. Rather fill spaces with additional packing paper if a box becomes to heavy. Remember to tape the top and bottom of your boxes.
Mark the box with a number and the room that it belongs in. For example, “Box 1 – Living Room”. Write the number and name on an inventory list. You may want to list the items stored in the box too in order to make things easy to find when you need them in your new home. Remember to mark the necessary boxes as fragile and include an arrow to show which way up.
Alternatively, opt for a professional packing service to take care of this, the most time consuming and aggravating removal task.

2. Furniture Items

Your furniture items may require some additional protection during transport. Wrap larger items in plastic and secure with packing tape. Make sure that all glass shelves, doors etc. are removed and covered in bubble wrap as well as mirrors, pictures and other glass. Other shelves and drawers should also be secured or removed and transported separately to wall units, dressers, desks and other furniture items.
Draw a sketch of the floor plan in your new home and fill in where you would like the furniture items to be placed. Provide this sketch to your removal company to speed up the process. Don’t chop and change your mind about the placement during the move. You can always move items around later.

3. Additional Steps

Find out if your current household insurance covers your household goods while in transit and what that cover involves. If you don’t have insurance or your current insurance does not provide cover, ask your removal company if they offer short term insurance.
You may need to store your belongings for a few days in between the day of exiting your current home and moving into your new home. Find out if your removal company provides storage or look for a storage facility near your destination.
You may want to hire a cleaning service to ensure that your new home is in perfect order before moving in. A cleaning service is also a great for cleaning your old home professionally after you have moved out.

Make sure that you and your belongings are ready for the move when the removal team arrives on the specified date and at the specified time.

Five Helpful Tips For Moving House

Are you going to be moving house soon? If you are, there are a few suggestions that you should consider.

These five tips will help you to pack up your items and move into your new place without much of an issue. You’ll be amazed by how helpful these suggestions are.

1. Start Preparing Early

If you know you are going to be moving house in the future, you should start getting ready as soon as you can. If you wait until the last minute to start packing, you may have to stay up all night to get everything taken care of. If you start early, you’ll be able to get everything done without overwhelming yourself.

2. Get Rid Of Items You No Longer Need

Before your move, you should go through your possessions and get rid of the things that you no longer need. If you have clothing you no longer wear, you should donate it. If you have furniture or old items you no longer use, you should try giving them away or selling them.
You shouldn’t bother to transport items that you won’t be using in your new home. If there is an item you no longer want, you should take care of it before you move.

3. Invest In Clear Storage Containers

For smaller mixed items, you should try packing them in clear storage containers! These kinds of containers are easy to see through, which means that you will be able to tell what is stored in them.
Clear storage containers are also sturdy and can be stacked on top of one another. They can eliminate a lot of moving hassles.

4. Organise Items By Room

When you are packing up your possessions, you should take the time to organise them. Try to sort items by room. The kitchen items should be kept together, as should items that belong in your bedroom or in your bathroom.
When you organise your items in this way, it will be easier for you to unpack them. You won’t have to go through box after box in order to determine where your items belong. This can really speed up the unpacking process. You’ll be able to get settled into your new home very quickly.

5. Pack A Weekend Bag

Even if you plan out your move very well, you aren’t going to be able to unpack everything is a single day. If you want to have the things you need while you are unpacking, you should put together a weekend bag.
Take a suitcase and fill it with essential items, like clothing and toiletries. Make sure that you can get to the things you need immediately.

Moving house can be a hassle, but there are many steps you can take that will make the process simpler. Whether you are moving on your own or Hiring a House Removals Company, you should do everything you can to mitigate the stress of your move.
